Guildford Travel Club Presents

A Glimpse of Eternal Snows

5th November 2013

Jane Wilson-Howarth

Nepal high valley

Author, GP and zoologist Jane Wilson-Howarth will take you on journeys ranging from the high passes to the wildlife rich lowlands of Nepal where she lived with her family for six years. Jane learned Nepali and ran clinics so became privy to a fascinating array of cultural material, but this also created scope for hilarious misunderstandings. Lots happened in those six years including a dozen high altitude treks with the kids, and encounters with rhino and tiger, so the talk will concentrate on the travel aspects of A Glimpse of Eternal Snows.

Jane's other books include Lemurs of the Lost World, Bugs Bites & Bowels (the current 5th edition has been renamed The Essential Guide to Travel Health), and How to Shit Around the World. She'll offer discounted copies. Her website is www.wilson-howarth.com
