Chris Forse

The Speaker

Members’ only evening with picture quiz, finger buffet and drinks. To be followed by a talk from Chris Forse.

Chris, who has given talks on travel in China and the American west, focuses on a place dear to millions of British people, the English Lake District. He will celebrate its unique landscape, its history, and its place in our national consciousness, with photographs and experiences gathered over nearly six decades, through all seasons.  He will also explore the challenges it faces today, economic and environmental, and consider how its uniqueness can be preserved for future generations.

Chris Forse is a former teacher, long time resident of Hong Kong, and chairman of one of England’s largest U3As. He is also an enthusiast for the trails and fells of the Lake District which he first tramped in 1965.
