Guildford Travel Club Presents

Why We Travel

3rd October 2023

Ash Bhardwaj

The Speaker

Ash Bhardwaj reveals different motivations for travel, and how we can use them to travel better, illustrated with anecdotes from his own journeys: an 8500km journey along Russia’s European border, walking 600km across the Bayuda Desert and trekking to Everest with wounded British soldiers.

Ash has reported from all over the world, from Columbia to Crimea, and from Norway to New Zealand. He is an officer in the British Army Reserve, where he serves with The Rifles, lectures in journalism at City University London and recently completed a Masters in Strategic Communications at King’s College London War Studies Department.
